You chose 3 very different examples: US, China and former Eastern Europe. The concept regarding the monumentality of the buildings and public-private relationship at least should be very different. I name just one example: what would a community center contain. In Eastern Europe there was a turn to include religious function because it was prohibited in Communism. For your study it is important to know regarding your previous study of demographics which ethnicity the ones you are making the community center are, and as such what function does it require.
